  • American Heritage Girls, Troop #MN03017 (grades K-8) - American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered, faith-based, scouting program for girls. Their mission is "Building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country".     Athletics (organized through FLAAA) - The Forest Lake Area Athletic Association oversees five youth traveling sports programs (baseball, basketball, fastpitch, hockey, and volleyball) and has four in-house sports programs (football, modified pitch softball, boys lacrosse, and girls lacrosse). They serve the 13 communities included in the boundaries of the Forest Lake Area School District (ISD 831): Columbus, East Bethel, Forest Lake, Ham Lake, Hugo, Lino Lakes, Linwood, Marine, May Township, Scandia, Stacy, Wyoming and Wyoming Township. Typically, Saint Peter's parents volunteer to coach a team of students and may combine with other local schools to fill a team if needed.

    Band and Orchestra (grades 6-8) – Students in middle school have the opportunity to participate in the band or orchestra programs offered by Independent School District #831. Students participate in band/orchestra during the school day at Forest Lake Middle School. Transportation is provided by District #831 buses. Grade 6 students participate in large group band one day per week after school.

    Boy Scouts of America, Troop #487 (grades K-8) - BSA's goal is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations.     Choir (grades 3-8) – The School Choir is built into the general music curriculum and meets during the school day. The choir sings at the weekly school Masses.

    Forest Lake Area Schools Community Education - Additional programs are offered through the Forest Lake Area Schools Community Education program such as swimming, arts, theatre, athletic programs, classes, etc.

    Little Flowers Club (grades K-6) – Little Flowers is a group for girls and their mothers to learn about the Saints, virtues, our faith and the Church.

    Liturgical Ministry (grades 4-8) – Liturgical Ministry offers students the chance to serve in the rich traditions of the Catholic Church as altar servers. Contact: Bonnie Wurscher at bwurscher@stpeterfl.org.

    Safety Patrol (grades 4-8) - Students assist a teacher with providing a safe route for students who walk home. Contact: Paula Cameron at pcameron@school.stpeterfl.org.

    Skiing/Snowboarding Program (grades 5-8) - As part of the Physical Education curriculum, students participate in an instructional downhill ski or snowboarding program each winter during January and February on Wednesday afternoons. They receive a one hour lesson followed by time to practice and have fun with their classmates.

    Wolfridge Environmental Camp - Finland, MN (grade 5)
    - This three-day experience is an integral part of the social studies and science curriculum. While at camp, students are active during the day and evening attending classes and all-group activities.

    Yearbook Club (grade 8) - This club works together to design, create and publish our school's annual yearbook.

  • Weekly Newsletter
    Saint Peter School sends an electronic weekly newsletter each Thursday during the school year. The newsletter contains a variety of information from important announcements to upcoming events. On Thursdays, miscellaneous information(in a blue folder) will also be sent home with the youngest child of each family. It is the student’s responsibility to return the blue folder each week.

  • Extended Day care is open from 6:00 - 7:30 am and from 2:15 - 6:00 pm.
    Contact the school office to register for this program.

    Any child, three years of age through eighth grade is eligible to participate in the Extended Day care program. Saint Peter School is a Catholic facility where basic Christian and social values are experienced. Children from all races, creeds and religions are welcomed. The teachers and staff selected to work with your child are committed to our Christian philosophy. Positive methods of discipline are used which are consistent with our belief in teaching positive self-concepts. We make every effort to keep parents informed through newsletters, notes, teacher letters, calendars and emails. A calendar of non-school days is given to parents at the beginning of the school year noting days when Extended Day is not in session. Alternate child care will need to be provided by the parents on those days.

    STANDARD AGREEMENT
    Commitment to a regular schedule for the same days and sessions every week is required.
    Fees are based on enrollment and not attendance.

    For parents who need a flexible schedule other than the Standard Agreement.
    24 hour advance notice is recommended.

    St. Peter's School students who are in preschool - grade 5 are eligible to attend summer day camp.

    Commitment to the same days each week is required. (minimum of 2 days per week required)

  • Financial aid is available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Several scholarships are available for students in Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. Please contact us with questions, (651) 982-2216.

    Tuition Assistance Application Deadline for the 2024-2025 School Year - April 15, 2024.

    Although paying for education is first and foremost the responsibility of a family, St. Peter School along with St. Peter Parish and various foundations and private donors devote significant funds each year to financial aid programs that help assist families. Together, we are committed to providing a Catholic school education to ALL families who desire that for their child.

    We want to work with you to provide an excellent Catholic education for your children. If you are interested in financial aid, the application can be completed online through TADS (Tuition Aid/Data Services).
    After completing the online enrollment process, there will be a prompt to apply for financial aid. Applicants will be notified of the amount awarded.

    SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
    Specific scholarships may also be available dependent upon benefactor contributions.

    1. The AIM Higher Foundation Scholarship (grades K-8)

    The Aim Higher Scholarship is a $1,000, student-based scholarship awarded to K-8 students from families with demonstrated financial need. Once a student is awarded the scholarship, they will continue to receive an additional $1,000 scholarship each year up to and through 8th grade as long as the yearly financial aid application continues to show need. The scholarship will also follow the student from year to year if he or she transfers to another Catholic school in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

    To be eligible for the Aim Higher Scholarship, a student must be in enrolled in or have plans to apply to the grades K-8 in a K-6, K-8, or K-12 Catholic school in the Archdiocese. Returning scholars are also eligible if they are enrolled in, transfer to, or plan to enroll in a 6-12 or 7-12 Catholic school. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need as determined by the TADS financial aid application.

    **The Catholic Services Appeal Foundation is linked with the AIM Higher Foundation and your application will be considered for both.

    2. Schulze Early Learning Scholarship Program (Pre-Kindergarten)
    Scholarships are awarded ranging from $500 to $3,000 for students in the Pre-Kindergarten program.

    The scholarship window for 2024-2025 will open on November 1, 2023.

    You are eligible to apply if:
    - Your child will be enrolled in a Catholic school.
    - Your child will be enrolled in the pre-kindergarten program.(last year of preschool/pre-k program)
    - Your child will be enrolled in kindergarten at that same Catholic school the following year.

    Food service for Saint Peter Catholic School is provided by Forest Lake Independent School District #831.

    The state of Minneosta will be offering free school meals for all students during the 2023-2024 school year.

    Breakfast
    No charge for standard breakfast.

    Lunch
    No charge for standard lunch.
    Extra Milk - $.50
    Second helping - $2.75
    For students bringing their own lunch, milk is $0.50.
    If you would like to join your child for lunch the cost of an adult meal may be deducted from your student’s account.

    Meal Payments
    Meals should be pre-paid (checks made payable to ISD #831) and sent to school in an envelope clearly marked HOT LUNCH or pay online using the PayPam system. We suggest that you make a deposit in your child’s account at the beginning of each month. Parents are notified by the school district when a student’s account has a negative balance. If if you are using the PayPam system, you will receive notification from them.

    Free and Reduced Lunch Program
    Saint Peter School receives state financial assistance based upon the number of qualifying free and reduced students enrolled. For this reason, if you think your family may qualify, please fill out an application to help the school, regardless of whether or not you choose to utilize the assistance. Application forms are available in the school office.

  • The School Advisory Council (SAC) consists of six members, each serving a three-year term, along with the Principal and the Pastor. The main function of the SAC is to advise the Principal and Pastor, to help provide a vision for the school’s educational and extended day programs and budgeting for carrying out that vision.

    Parents are encouraged to bring school related questions or concerns to any of the members.

  • All K-8 students who reside in Forest Lake Independent School District #831 are eligible for busing to and from Saint Peter Catholic School.

    Saint Peter’s students ride on the secondary buses. In the morning students arrive at the secondary school(Forest Lake Area Middle School) and then transfer to shuttle buses which bring them to Saint Peters. After school, students board shuttle buses which take them to Forest Lake High School. Students then transfer to their home bus. Saint Peter’s School staff accompany students on the afternoon shuttle buses during the first week of school to ensure students understand the procedure. Kindergarten and first grade students are assigned an older student (bus buddy) who accompanies them on the bus at the end of the school day for the entire school year.

    Students are not allowed to switch buses unless they have a bus pass issued to them from the school office. Written authorization from the student’s parent/guardian is required for all changes in transportation.

  • Students in Preschool - Grade 8 are required to dress in the regulation school uniform which should be purchased at Donald's Uniform Store, our school's official uniform supplier. All uniform items can be found at Donald's except for the middle school shoes.

  • Volunteers have always played a large role in creating the caring community presence at Saint Peter Catholic School. The parent volunteer community is also critical in running many vital school programs, from helping in the classroom to working on key fundraisers and staffing special events. We are blessed to have many generous families who give of their time and talent. We look forward to working with you!

    Safe Environment Volunteer Requirements
    All volunteers who interact with minors are required to complete and maintain safe environment credentials through the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The requirements include a criminal background check, signing a Code of Conduct, and completing safe environment training. Re-credentialing is required every three years.
